During the Las Vegas massacre, a woman’s life was miraculously saved by her iPhone which obstructed a bullet and hit the back of the device.
The unknown woman presumably had the iPhone in her hand close to her body while running from the shots when the device was hit. The picture below is an image of the back of the phone, which appears to be completely shattered after it was hit by a stray bullet.
The bottom of her iPhone was totally shattered, with the metal edge falling off. The glass outer layer appears to be fragmented and the phone looks like it is completely destroyed.
The woman flagged down a taxi at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival as she fled the scene of the shooting. It was in this cab, that an unnamed taxi driver took a snapshot of the shattered iPhone and shared it with the media. According to the driver, the woman was unharmed.
This survivor lost her phone but kept her life. Although the woman, was not named, she is said to have told the driver that she was almost hit by stray bullets as she ran for her life. When Paddock shot into the audience of a country music concert, he was probably hoping to take many people by surprise, thankfully our this unknown survivor, she was not one of those who were hit.
The Las Vegas massacre is the most vicious mass shooting in modern American history. The shooter killed 58 people on Sunday and left hundreds more injured and hospitalized.
The 64 year old gunman— Stephen Paddock — shot at a crowd of over 20,000 people from a strategic point on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel before taking his own life. An FBI official announced today that the authorities are still investigating his motives and are looking for conspirators who may have had foreknowledge of Paddoks’ plan.
